The Maria Creek wharf was located about 2 miles upstream from the river mouth. A sawmill tramway from the wharf to Japoonvale was also used by Chinese growers to transport their bananas to the wharf as seen on this image, where "S.S. Seymour" is loading. The Adelaide Steamship Company shed can be seen to the left centre

The image is of Winnie, Violet and Dilly Boy. Dilly Boy showed Surveyor Smith the gap through the Walter Hill Range that the North Coast Railway took. He was presented with an engraved brass plate as "King Dilly Boy of Banyan."

Alf and Jack Perkins owned the property north of Murray Upper School where they had a Palomino horse stud which did not prosper. They died in c.1918
