Black & white photograph of the Adelaide Steamship Company's "SS Tully" loading produce on the Tully River in 1912. This company maintained a wharf at Lower Tully

The image is of Winnie, Violet and Dilly Boy. Dilly Boy showed Surveyor Smith the gap through the Walter Hill Range that the North Coast Railway took. He was presented with an engraved brass plate as "King Dilly Boy of Banyan."

The Maria Creek wharf was located about 2 miles upstream from the river mouth. A sawmill tramway from the wharf to Japoonvale was also used by Chinese growers to transport their bananas to the wharf as seen on this image, where "S.S. Seymour" is loading. The Adelaide Steamship Company shed can be seen to the left centre

He served on Cardwell Shire Council and also joined the VDC in the Second World War. His name appears on the Honour Roll in Cardwell and Curtis Street, Tully was named after him
