Black and white photograph of the original Cardwell Divisional Board Hall which became the Cardwell Shire Hall. Located at 51 Victoria Street, it was built in 1892. This photo was taken before it was refurbished in 1988 to become the library. The closed-in portion of the veranda is visible, and also the supper room at the rear. It was severely damaged by Cyclone Yasi in 2011 and subsequently rebuilt. Now a heritage listed property, it houses the J.C. Hubinger Museum

Black & white photograph of El Arish State School, which was established as Maria Creek School in 1922. The original enrolment of 5 pupils had grown to 50 by 1927, and 70 by 1930. New buildings were added over the years

Black and white photograph of the unveiling of a memorial cairn to Brice Henry. The cairn is located some 9 miles from the commencement of the Kirrama Range Road, overlooking the Davidson and Murray River lands. Chairman of Cardwell Shire Council, Brice Henry died in office in 1940. From a pioneer family, he served the shire for many years as councillor and in his work in the cattle fattening industry

Black and white print of the old hall, Feluga, situated near the railway station. Erected by the Farmers Association, in 1926, it was some 40 feet by 25 feet. The Feluga Provisional School opened here on 7th February 1927 pending a purpose-built school. On the first day 25 children were enrolled, and the teacher was Michael F. Callaghan. The hall was destroyed by a cyclone in 1956

Photograph of the Q.A.T.B. (Ambulance) building on Bryant Street in 1927. This building, erected in 1925, was in use until 1960 when the QATB moved to a new brick building on Watkins Street. Cardwell Shire Council took over this building and the library was located on the ground floor with the Engineering Department on the floor above

Black and white original photograph of the National Bank of Australasia building (later the National Australia Bank), located on Butler Street adjacent to the Post Office. The National Bank moved into this concrete building in 1928
