Photograph of the Garner family gravestones in the burial plot at Garners Beach. This beach was named after the Garner family. Edward Thomas Garner purchased a property here in 1910 and the graves were located on this block. The block has since passed out of the hands of the Garner family but the burial plot was listed on the Queensland Heritage Register in 1999

Sepia photograph of the headstone on the grave of Frederick and Margaret Cutten. The Cuttens and their sons were pioneers of the Clump Point and Bingil Bay area from the 1880s. They developed their property, Bicton, growing many tropical crops and also established a sawmill

Colour photograph of Ninney Rise, the home of John Busst, Bingil Bay. Busst was an artist and environmentalist who worked tirelessly for the conservation and protection of the Great Barrier Reef. After Busst's death the property was sold to Mrs Kate Tode who bequeathed it to the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service at her death in 1990. It is now a heritage listed property

Jim Butler was owner and skipper of the "Silver Quay" which he bought in 1932. For some years he ran a cargo service from Brammo Bay, Dunk Island, where coastal steamers off-loaded goods. The "Silver Quay" took cargo to the Hull River landing for delivery to stores and hotels

Just inside the mouth of the Hull River. This river was named after Surveyor Alfred Hull who had worked in the area in 1871 surveying the Murray and Mackay (Tully) Rivers area

The roman catholic church at Lower Tully was blessed and opened on 11 August, 1935. This photograph shows the altar and interior of the church decorated for a wedding or first communion service. The church became known as the Chapel of the Pioneers from 1992

Black and white photograph of the second jetty at Cardwell. The original jetty that was built in 1872 was located out from near the old telegraph office and was destroyed by a cyclone. The jetty in this image, built near where the current jetty was completed in 1969, was itself damaged by the cyclone of 1918 and reduced drastically in length
