Sepia photograph of prominent pioneer of the Cardwell district, Johann Christian Hubinger, who arrived in Cardwell in 1869. He was one of the first members of the Cardwell Divisional Board appointed in 1884 and served on the Divisional Board and then the Cardwell Shire Council for over 22 years. He died in office as Chairman in 1908

Photograph of the railway station building at Kennedy. The siding was named Kennedy by the Railways Department on 20 Feb 1926, replacing the original name of Mulgan. The North Coast railway line was constructed north from Townsville at the same time as it was being built southwards from Cairns. It was finally completed in December 1924
