Photograph of the Tully River rail bridge under construction. The Feluga - Cardwell section of the north coast railway line (which includes the rail bridge) was officially opened on 10 December 1924. Prior to this over 450 men were employed on the construction. A camp for workers can be seen on the bank of the river

The North Coast Railway line through from Townsville to Cairns was finally officially opened in December 1924 when the Daradgee bridge over the Johnstone River was completed
