Black and white photograph of the railway station at El Arish. The North Coast railway line was constructed north from Townsville at the same time as it was being built southwards from Cairns. It was finally completed in December 1924. The section from Innisfail to El Arish was completed on 18th December, 1922, and the El Arish to Feluga section was completed on 3rd December, 1923 and opened for public traffic
