Photo shows the bungalow built by E.J. Banfield and his wife set back from the beach at Brammo Bay, Dunk Island. An ex-journalist, Banfield settled on Dunk in 1897. He also planted an avenue of coconut palms leading up to the house. Later it was part of Dunk Island resort

The section from Innisfail to El Arish was completed on 18th December, 1922, and the El Arish to Feluga section was completed on 3rd December, 1923 and opened for public traffic
