The Lower Tully section of the Main Roads developmental road from Tully town to Lower Tully was commenced in the late 1920s. Messrs Pershouse and Hunt were first contracted for the works in 1927

Black and white photograph of the new R.S.L. club rooms on Bryant Street, Tully, under construction in 1956. The builder was W. Sorensen. The building was erected at a cost of £12,500 but with the land and equipment the total value was £17,000. The new building was officially opened on 15 December 1956

Sepia photograph of the Butler Brothers' bus. Following the completion of the Tully - Hull River Developmental Road, the Butler Brothers commenced a combined motor bus and motor launch service from Tully to Dunk Island. The service commenced in December 1931 and was popular for Sunday picnics. Along the side of the bus can be seen: "Googarra Beach"

Colour photograph of the commemorative cairn near the jetty at Cardwell which commemorates the first party of non-indigenous people to settle at Rockingham Bay. They arrived on 21st January 1864. In 1964 the Cardwell Shire centenary celebrations included a re-enactment of the first landing and the unveiling of this monument by Sir Henry Abel-Smith, Governor of Queensland
