Photograph of the Tully River rail bridge under construction. The Feluga - Cardwell section of the north coast railway line (which includes the rail bridge) was officially opened on 10 December 1924. Prior to this over 450 men were employed on the construction. A camp for workers can be seen on the bank of the river

Premier E.G. Theodore visited Banyan in May 1922 to meet with residents. He inspected the area and heard their case for a sugar mill. There was torrential rain on the day but a banquet was provided at the cane-decorated home of Mr J beattie

Terence and Ann O'Loghlen came north to settle on a cane farm at South Johnstone in 1921 but moved to Lower Tully in 1925. Terence was one of the original suppliers of cane to Tully Mill for its first crushing

The horse team belonged to his father, Edward Garner, who first settled at Cardwell in 1900 and moved to Bingil Bay in 1909 to work with the Cutten Brothers. He chose a block of land at the beach now known as Garners Beach
