Jim Kirk was the owner of Kirk's Aerated Water and Cordial Factory (c.1910 - 1918). He was married to Eva Kirk (nee Graham), who later became Mrs W. Hewett. [from description on back of photo]

Sepia photograph of prominent pioneer of the Cardwell district, Johann Christian Hubinger, who arrived in Cardwell in 1869. He was one of the first members of the Cardwell Divisional Board appointed in 1884 and served on the Divisional Board and then the Cardwell Shire Council for over 22 years. He died in office as Chairman in 1908
