Black and white photograph of the two buildings at Kennedy State School in about 1950. A provisional school opened at Kennedy Creek in 1927. That building was moved in 1943 to the present site and raised on high blocks. The name was changed to Kennedy State School in 1945. The low building on the right in the photograph was later also raised on blocks and joined to the other building by a veranda

Black and white photograph of the second jetty at Cardwell. The original jetty (built in 1872) was located out from near the old telegraph office and was destroyed by a cyclone. The jetty in this image, built near where the current jetty is now found, was itself damaged by the cyclone of 1918 and reduced in length
