Terence and Ann O'Loghlen came north to settle on a cane farm at South Johnstone in 1921 but moved to Lower Tully in 1925. Terence was one of the original suppliers of cane to Tully Mill for its first crushing

Sepia photo showing Peter and Ellen Flegler with their children in 1920. Born at Toowoomba, Peter moved to the Tablelands as a young man, and moved with wife Ellen to Tully after 1918. He had a cane farm at Bulgun Creek and was a Board of Directors member for the Sugar Mill for 20 years

The horse team belonged to his father, Edward Garner, who first settled at Cardwell in 1900 and moved to Bingil Bay in 1909 to work with the Cutten Brothers. Photograph of Superintendent John Kenny's house built at the Hull River Settlement. The quarters were completed by the end of 1914. Aboriginal people continued to be moved to the settlement from 1914 until March 1918, when a devastating cyclone destroyed the settlement. It was not re-established
