Sepia photograph of the Butler Brothers' bus. Following the completion of the Tully - Hull River Developmental Road, the Butler Brothers commenced a combined motor bus and motor launch service from Tully to Dunk Island. The service commenced in December 1931 and was popular for Sunday picnics. Along the side of the bus can be seen: "Googarra Beach"

The Lower Tully section of the Main Roads developmental road from Tully town to Lower Tully was commenced in the late 1920s. Messrs Pershouse and Hunt were first contracted for the works in 1927
