Here is an original Aussie Battler from the 1950s and this is his life story from rags to riches. He made a 9000-mile journey with his wife and sister, Audrey and Margaret, and a fox terrier in an old car in 1955. The journey was from Perth through Kalgoorlie, the Gibson desert, Alice Springs and the Sir Edward Pellew Islands in the Gulf of Carpentaria, returning via the West Australian coast. They survived with crocodiles, sharks, birds, dugongs and fish. Keith established a home base in a cave and hunted together with the Aboriginal people, who called him "Uncle". In 1955 he made an amateur film 'Northern safari' about their travels and for over 20 years the film was shown commercially by Keith and his friends in Australia [breaking 27 box office records in Queensland], New Zealand, England, Canada, United States, South Africa, Rhodesia, Holland, Germany and parts of South-East Asia.
