Black and white photograph of canecutters in front of a loaded truck (bin) at El Arish. The stumps and logs can clearly be seen in the paddock, around which the cane was grown. The property was that of J.D. Irving, who drew a block at Jaffa. As well as farming and canecutting, Irving was recorded as "bending steel on the Jubilee Bridge" in the early times

The others are a canecutting gang apart from the man on the far right who was a swaggieOn back of photo: "Jock died in 1973. From J.D. Irving, El Arish 6/8/70 to Jim Hogan of El Arish. In memory of the old days of his Father and I at this neck of the woods here at El Arish somewhere in the late (20s) Twenties. J.D. Irving."
