Sepia photograph of the S.L.S.C. building on Kennedy Esplanade, South Mission Beach. The building was used during WW2 at Battle Creek on the Atherton Tableland and was brought to the Beach by trucks in c.1950. It was destroyed by fire c.1972 after it had been sold for a residential block. The Lifesavers were operating before the war and started up again after the war. It was a popular pastime in the 1960s
