Photograph of Chinese banana growers with bunches from their smaller craft alongside a larger vessel on the Tully River. There were numerous Chinese growers along the Tully River from the 1890s, and about 400 at the peak from 1905 to 1908. The First World War caused shipping to southern markets to be disrupted and most of the Chinese gardeners departed
