The Maria Creek wharf was located about 2 miles upstream from the river mouth. A sawmill tramway from the wharf to Japoonvale was also used by Chinese growers to transport their bananas to the wharf as seen on this image, where "S.S. Seymour" is loading. The Adelaide Steamship Company shed can be seen to the left centre
