That building was moved in 1943 to the present site and raised on high blocks. The name was changed to Kennedy State School in 1945. The low building on the right in the photograph was later also raised on blocks and joined to the other building by a veranda

The jetty in this image, built near where the current jetty is now found, was itself damaged by the cyclone of 1918 and reduced in length
